St. Dennis Band and World-Renowned Guest Soloist Dr. Brett Baker deliver a great evening of music

The St. Dennis Band took to the stage alongside internationally acclaimed trombonist Dr. Brett Baker to entertain an enthusiastic audience of brass band fans at the Keay Theatre, St. Austell on Saturday 28th October. The concert showcased a rich diversity of music, from original brass compositions to crowd-favourites.


The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the amazing collaboration between the St. Dennis Band and the renowned soloist, Dr. Brett Baker. Truly a virtuoso on the trombone, Dr. Baker's remarkable command over his instrument mesmerized the audience, eliciting resounding applause after each incredible solo.


As a globally recognized musician, Dr. Brett Baker has performed with leading bands and ensembles around the world, and his remarkable artistry was on full display during this memorable concert. His stunning solos blended seamlessly with the band, creating an enchanting musical experience that left a lasting impression on all in attendance.


The audience were also treated to a fabulous performance of the March ‘Star Lake’ by the talents of our very own trombone choir, starring Dr. Brett Baker, the St. Dennis Band trombone section; Dylan Brewer, Dan Sloggett and Colin Whitford who were joined by great friends of the band; Keith Maxwell, Graham Hooper and Nigel Joy, and Musical Director Darren Hawken.


We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing compere for the evening, Shane Solomon and to the fantastic staff at the Keay Theatre.
