New player announcement

🌟 St. Dennis Band would like to welcome a new player to not only the band, but to the UK and Cornwall! 🌟

We are very pleased to announce that Dawson Holloway, from Michigan, has signed for the band on BBb Bass 🎶🎶

Dawson is excited to play with the St Dennis Band after his recent move across the pond to Cornwall. Dawson is a rare transplant from the United States’s Brass Band scene to the United Kingdom’s. He began playing tuba in secondary school, and got his start playing in brass bands while in university. He was an early member in the Frontier Brass Band, the foremost brass ensemble in the state of Oklahoma. Dawson was fortunate to have been with this band during its rise to prominence, and built strong connections within America’s brass bands through this. Dawson has since played with the Five Lakes Silver Band, the Five Lakes Metro Brass, and the Motor City Brass Band, among others.

Dawson moved to Cornwall for work with the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, and he hopes to someday play tuba for the seals 🦭

🎉 And we'd also like to extend our hugest thanks to dedicated member of the band, Dave Dobson, who has been trying to retire from brass playing for quite a while but has always stepped back into the BBb bass role when needed. Thank you Dave! We hope you enjoy your retirement🥂
