St. Dennis Band Welcomes Two Exceptional Players to Strengthen its Line up for the West of England Regional Championships

St. Dennis Band is delighted to officially welcome two outstanding musicians, Callum Bain and Harry Chambers, to bolster its ranks as the band gears up for the upcoming West of England Regional Championships.


Scottish cornetist Callum brings a wealth of experience to St. Dennis Band, having played for several distinguished bands throughout his musical career. Notably, he played with Clackmannan Band during their ascent from the 1st section to the championship section in 2012, where he spent four successful years. Callum has also lent his talents to renowned bands such as Lochgelly and Bon Accord in the championship section. as well as The Co-operative Funeralcare Band (now The Cooperation Band) where he made notable appearances at the British Open Brass Band Championships at Symphony Hall. He also performed as a solo cornet player with The National Youth Brass Band of Scotland from 2012 to 2017.


St. Dennis Band eagerly anticipates the positive impact Callum will bring to the ensemble.


Harry started his musical journey at an early age with a full-size drum kit at age 5. During his eight enjoyable years with Sidmouth Town Band Association, he developed his skills in timpani and tuned percussion, showcased his dedication to brass banding and his love for challenging concert programs. Harry has completed all grades up to 8, including 5 with distinctions. With diverse experience performing with wind bands, musical theatre pits, and other ensembles, Brass Banding have remained Harry’s first passion.


After an enjoyable 2023 summer season with St. Dennis Band, where Harry filled in for rehearsals and ultimately enjoyed it so much that he ended up playing the whole summer season, he expresses his excitement for the challenges and camaraderie that lie ahead in the upcoming contest season.


Harry shares, "Playing with St. Dennis has been an exciting new challenge and has rejuvenated my love for banding. I can't wait for this year's contest season and for all the fun times that I'm sure lay ahead."
