Youth Band Re-Launched!!

St. Dennis Band are delighted to announce that the re-launch of the Youth Band took place on Friday 15th January 2010 with an extremely enthusiastic Garry Lannie at the helm.

Youth Band rehearsals will take place at 7.30pm until 9.00pm every Friday following the rehearsals of the successful and ever growing Learner and Junior Bands directed by Amelia Commons.

Garry has set a challenging first goal which will be to enter Bugle Contest in June playing the enjoyable and searching Goff Richards test piece "A Saddleworth Festival Overture".

There has already been a lot of interest and enthusiasm surrounding the re-launch and at the very successful first rehearsal there was a healthy core of eager young people lined up to breathe life into the Youth Band. These ranged from the more experienced Junior Band members through to experienced senior band players with Stacie Hill in the principal seat.

We are, of course, looking for new members to swell the ranks and it would also be fantastic if previous members of the Youth Band would consider coming along to the first rehearsals to help make the venture a huge success. There are no registration requirements for Youth Bands and, like several of our prospective youth members, you may wish to play for and be registered with an adult band as well.

If you wish to talk to somebody about the re-launch, Garry Lannie will be more than happy to discuss it, his numbers are 07800 991008 & 01726 823372. Or come along on any rehearsal night and have a chat!

We would also like to ask that if anyone out there has any items from their time with St. Dennis Youth Band i.e. instruments, uniform, or music they could bring these along with them so that we will be able to make sure everybody has everything they need.
